THE ANGRY AMERICAN

If I Can Dream

Yes, it is an old song by Elvis Presley, it's also a long standing vision. We are embroiled in a heated race right now for the presidency and there are heated words and hotter emotions flying back and forth. I would like to invite a few of you to share my dream , then ask yourself, which candidate represents that dream the best.

I want health care for everybody. Affordable, quality health . I don't believe that socialized medicine can make that available, so, how do we get there? There are a couple of ways.

       1) Tort reform. It really is that simple to help. Take the lawyers out of the loop and the costs    will go down. I'm not talking about snubbing people who have been wrongfully injured by      negligence, but rather, a plan to equitably compensate them for their losses.

       2) National catastrophic reserve. This would be an annuity set up to cover those cases that     exceed a pre-determined amount. We can figure that out together. The principle would remain    untouched and benefits would be paid out of the return. This limits the exposure to Insurance      companies which will lower premiums.

I guess my question to you, the reader, at this point is, should we continue the "lottery" awards being handed out by the courts ( one third or more of which goes to the lawyers) or should we justly compensate the victim and keep quality care available to all.

Come join us on the show sometime and we'll bat it around,

       Mac
